So this last year (2013/2014) I was lucky enough to be in Coach Curlette's Class and it definitely treated me well. On the academic side, you should know Coach treats his students like young adults in the sense that he expects them to take control of their own learning environment. While he may not require homework, it doesn't mean that you don't need to work on your own time. Take advantage of all the tools he extends you, whether it be a YouTube video or pages within the text. He's willing to give as much as you are. Another important thing is to come in for help when you need it, class is only so long and you may not leave with the answer you need. On a social aspect, while Curlette is lenient: DO NOT TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIM. He's a kind-hearted man but not at all a push over. Don't make him prove that to you. Enjoy your year and good luck.

Coach Curlette is an amazing teacher and will always help you as long as you're willing to learn. Do the study guides ALWAYS! You'll have no problem passing. Did I say he's an amazing teacher?

The worst thing a new student can do in Coach Curlette's class is to underestimate how understandable he makes his class and his rules. He is one of the nicest instructors you will ever meet and also one of the most helpful, always willing to step aside in order to help someone when they need it. However, don't take that kindness and his good nature for granted. In his class, everyone is responsible for their own work. He will only provide the means for everyone to succeed, but it is up to the student to use those means. Be it Youtube, notes, or a shared space for students to help one another as well, all options are open. Use them.

Be real with Coach Curlette, and he'll be real with you.
By the way, I was his student nearly three years ago now, but if he's still the same amazing teacher he was when I was in highschool, here's a hint:
Laffy Taffies. Bring them.

Being in Coach Curlette's class was a fun experience. A tip to help you in his class is to ALWAYS(I mean ALWAYS) do the study guides in his class. They are a tremendous learning tool that will help you on quizzes and tests. Plus he is a really reasonable teacher. He is NEVER unfair. And a hint to being on his good side: Bring candy on the first day.

To all of Coach Curlettes new students, All I really have to say is do your study guides because whatever is on that study guide WILL be on your test. I can guarantee you that if you do them you will pass each and everyone of his tests, also do his HW because he rarely assigns it and when he does im sure it's only for your own good to do good on your upcoming assignments and tests. Oh! wait for him to finish talking because I bet you that he will answer your own question! Coach Curlette is honestly one of the most chill teachers there can be as long as you don't pull on his strings. Everything he does is out of love & passion for his job. He obviously loves teaching and he does a very spectacular job at it. That's pretty much it just do your best and good luck! :)

Be prepared for anything! Homework checks, tests, quizzes, and the deadline that your study guide is due. Always keep notes even if you're the type that doesn't take notes please do so; even if it isn't much it will definitely help for the future tests or quizzes (cough cough... study guide). Another thing to add is please be respectful is class, listen to coach, and DO NOT be disruptive to others. You will have time to talk and have fun if you get things done with what's on Coach Curlette's agenda. Have fun and wish you guys the best of luck!

If you don't understand something don't just sit there and act like you get it. Ask questions, get help during your lunch, or before/after school. You have all resources you need to succeed! You can do it:)
